Professional Background
Prof Uzma Mahmood is a Consultant Gynaecologist & Robotic Surgeon based in Limerick. She graduated from Punjab University in Pakistan and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI) and Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG).
She earned an MD from University College Cork, with her research focusing on foetal microchimerism and maternal wound healing. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Obstetric Ultrasound from UCD (2015) and specialised in robotic benign gynaecological surgery in Cork (2017).
Prof Mahmood is a BIARGS (British & Irish Robotic Gynaecological Surgery) and SERGS (Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery) certified robotic surgeon who holds a Level 2 Certification in Neuropelveology. She is the lead Robotic Gynaecology surgeon and lead Endometriosis surgeon at University Hospital Limerick, having performed over 300 robotic procedures with less than 5% complication and conversion rate.
